Kalmar SmartPort offering consist of several different process automation solutions that boost the efficiency of your container operations at your port or terminal:

• SmartMap for real-time and historical visualisation of equipment location and container routing in the yard. SmartMap is the main visualisation tool for operations.
• SmartScreen automatically displays a job list to the lift operator and confirms when the container has been lifted or placed. This information is presented to the driver through a user-friendly interface showing both the stack and map view to aid operator decision making.
• SmartTrucks for automatically identifying road trucks and tracking their movement around the terminal by using either RFID technology or an app that can be downloaded by road truck drivers.
• SmartStack for creating an automatically updated real-time stack container inventory.
• SmartLift for automating the job-selection process for lifting equipment like Reach Stackers, Top Loaders, RTGs and RMGs. 
• SmartRail is a stand alone module that provides a virtual rail for gantry cranes that run on rubber tyres, to keep the crane in alignment with the stack at all times.
• SmartTrack is designed for rail operations. A smart track license provides greater functionality to SmartMap and Smart Screen enabling you to model any train down to the individual railcar or container in your yard.

Taking advantage of the latest technology in rail operations.

Our SmartMap and SmartScreen modules have been extended specifically to address the needs of rail operators and with all enhancements available through SmartTrack. With SmartTrack we can model a train in the rail yard in the same way that we can already model a container stack in a marine terminal to provide complete visibility over operations – from a high-level view of the yard right down to the level of an individual railcar or container.

Kalmar SmartTrucks app

The Kalmar SmartTrucks App provides real time external truck visibility with the help of a smartphone. The app enables two way communication between the truck driver and the terminal and helps customers improve crane operator productivity and reduce truck turn times.
